Mr. Wolf’s class (series) by aron nels steinke

I colored Mr. Wolf’s Class: Field Trip (2020) and Mr. Wolf’s Class: Snow Day (2022), the fourth and fifth book in this series by my old comics pal Aron Nels Steinke. One of the big goals was to match the coloring style that Aron had established in the first three books, so that readers would not feel a big change in style as they read through the series. I had the honor of coloring this wonderful, coming-of-age, YA graphic novel by one of my favorite cartoonists, Vera Brosgol. It was a fun challenge depicting a variety of different types of lighting with a very limited palette of only four colors (black, white, green, dark green). Published by FirstSecond Books in 2018.

the unsinkable walker bean (series) by aaron renier

I colored The Unsinkable Walker Bean and the Knights of the Waxing Moon (2018) and The Unsinkable Walker Bean (2010) both by one of my closest comics friends, Aaron Renier. Both these rip-roaring, high-seas adventures feature lavishly detailed panels that kids love to dig through. Published by FirstSecond Books.
