In 2014, I illustrated the fifth book in the popular Middle School series by James Patterson, published by Little, Brown and Company. For this project I had to match the illustration style of Laura Park, who drew books 1, 2 and 4 in the series, and also the illustration style of Neil Swaab who drew book 3 in the series.
There were over 250 illustrations in this book! It was art directed by Neil Swaab and Tracy Shaw. All of the writing and illustrations on this page are ©2014 James Patterson.
SAVE RAFE! MAP
After I illustrated Middle School: Ultimate Showdown, I did a few other Middle School illustrations in the style of Laura Park, who was busy drawing subsequent books in the series. This map was drawn as a promotional item for the sixth book, Middle School: Save Rafe! It is one of the craziest illustrations I have ever drawn! It pretty much summarizes the entire book in a single image. This piece was art directed by Florence Yue and is ©2014 James Patterson.
